I may have been a tiny bit over-excited to do this post. It’s been anything but a chore to sift through inspiration photos containing the sunniest hues of orange, lemon, and lime. Definitely a contrast to the cold and dreary month of January (although, even I admit, this one hasn’t been that bad- so far, anyway).
I recently made my first batch of meyer lemon curd (then proceeded to make macarons out of it), and it could only be described as a ‘bite of sunshine’. I’ve since been inspired to work citrus into as many dishes as possible. For a table setting, I love highlighting softer versions of these citrus colors, while accenting with indigo and gold, for a winter-appropriate take. Have these colors found their way into your kitchen yet?

I would love to have that 3 tier basket in my home!! Oh and that adorable cake stand! =)
I’ve been trying to learn how to make macarons but my first attempt was a failure. When I try it next time I’ll check out that meyer lemon curd recipe for the filling! =)
i need that basket. need it. and like, i’ve been dying to make lemon bars but i’m trying to not give myself type 2 diabetes with my sugar intake and it makes me so sad! i want to try to make macarons but i’m SO intimidated.
You should totally try macarons- don’t be intimidated! I was scared too, but love them so much that I just went for it. They turned out entirely edible, and this recipe is seemingly foolproof http://food52.com/recipes/3809_meyer_lemon_macarons. Yay for new recipes!
Sarah-
