Since graduation, I’ve been spending quite a bit of time in New York City. I do feel lucky that I’m close enough that I can take advantage of all it has to offer, but it definitely wasn’t love at first sight. The City can feel very unnatural, but I think it’s slowly growing on me. However, one of any city’s best features is arguably it’s skyline. Every time I see New York from across the Hudson River it is kind of breathtaking, especially if you catch it at sunset. One thing that any city-dweller should do this summer is get up on their rooftop (or find a friend with rooftop access!) to admire the view with a few icy drinks. If all else fails, I hear that the Met has a modest little place that will do the trick!
I find picnics to be picture perfect in theory, but let’s admit that making, packing, and transporting everything can end up being more of challenge than you signed up for on a lazy summer day. This is why I think limiting it to a hearty salad, and some drinks that will take center stage, is the best option. For salads that seem more like a meal than an afterthought, I always turn to panzanella. It has all the crunch, and none of the wimpiness. Plus, it capitalizes on a salad’s best feature- homemade croutons, of course. Drinks are an easy way to impress, and Peach and Basil Juleps are pretty much August in a glass. Cheers!

I love the occasions when I get a chance to hang out on someone’s rooftop for an evening picnic. That LemLem blanket is pretty spectacular…and I love panzanella salad!
What a view! Amazing : ) And the panzanella salad looks wonderful!

I’m truly enjoying the design and layout of your site. It’s a very easy on the eyes which makes it much more enjoyable for me to come here and visit more
often. Did you hire out a designer to create your theme?
Fantastic work!
