Organizing Your Kitchen for 2012

Heritage Hill Jar, 2-gal. traditional food containers and storage

I can really be the queen of New Year’s resolutions. In previous years I would spend hours making my list, creating spreadsheets (yes, I’m that bad), and planning out all the changes I was going to make for the coming year. And like most, I probably spent more time making that list than adhering to my resolutions. So this year- no resolutions. I’ve got some major work goals in 2012, so that’s giving me plenty to work towards.  And anything else I’d like to change, well, the plan is to do it right then and there and not wait for around for next January.

BUT, when it comes to my kitchen, you know I can’t help but organize and revamp a bit. I’ve got some cupboards that really need some shelving help, and my knives. Oh my poor knives. They are duller than I’d like to admit. It’s a little embarrassing what they have trouble cutting.  I have a knife sharpener, but I think they’re too far gone, so I’ve decided to have them sharpened by professionals. Have you guys ever done that? I’m pretty excited.

And in case you’re in need of more ideas and tips for organizing your kitchen for the New Year, I’m over at Houzz this month with a bundle of recommendations for getting your cupboards, pantry, and kitchen tools in top condition. Hope it’s helpful! Have a wonderful weekend.

Great ideas! I live in a tiny, one-bedroom apartment and my cupboard space is limited. I bought some extra shelving just a few weeks ago, but things are already starting to get messy.

    • I know, it’s so hard to maintain! I have extra shelving too but it still requires work… I’m hoping more will solve the problem.
