Last night we kicked off the weekend a little early and had a cook out with friends in the neighborhood. I made a big batch of gauc, we grilled hot dogs (secret hot dog lover right here), and hung out with their sweet pup- it was the best. I’m beginning to believe May is my favorite month of the year. Maybe it’s because April was so darn cold, but the mild temps and sunny skies really make everyday feel a little bit like a vacation.
Here are a few bits from my week…
- Kicked off the week sick in bed which prompted me to purchase the new season of Real Housewives of Orange County. So trashy, but so good. Aaaand I kind of love Heather.
- Jessica made blueberry muffin ice cream. Blueberry muffin ice cream people! There are no words.
- I purchased tickets to my 10 year high school reunion this week. 10 years? How how how did we get here?
- This bullet is just a friendly reminder to listen to the Joy the Baker podcast if you don’t already. Joy and Tracy are the best. They make me laugh endlessly, and make cleaning up the kitchen a breeze.
- Coconut oil spray- my latest Trader Joe’s product obsession. I’m thrilled to have a convenient cooking spray that isn’t whatever the hell is in Pam. Speaking of Trader Joe’s, would you guys be interested in a post about my favorite products from the store? Been thinking about that one…
- This sweet Flavor Story from Joy has me wanting to do cooking videos so so badly. Add that to my summer bucket list!
- Heart you Jon Hamm.
- I’m getting my haaaair done tomorrow. So ready to freshen up my locks, get my trusty bangs back, and get rid of this look.
- Drooling over this Mother’s Day brunch from SMP Home. That blueberry sour cream coffee cake with lemon glaze has my name written all over it.
And that about does it friends. I’ve got a weekend to get to! Happy Mother’s Day to all you mamas, and especially to mine. See you next week! xx
Rhubarb Float by the lovely Ashley of Not Without Salt
my 10 year is this fall…crazy, i cannot believe it!
yes! trader joe’s post please! love love love that store! I would be so interested to see what you get from there. Some goodies that I don’t know about?
Clara, can not agree more: to me, every sunny day is a vacation day!! In my geographic zone, I learned to value those sunny days more than anything else (I’m in North Europe now, it’s almost always overcast and around 16-17 degrees C in the summer).
Yes, 10 years means you are going to have a very interesting meeting;, my parents had recently 40 years, so I learnt a lot from them about how emotions evolve over time:-)
Have a great weekend!
Here it’s sttutory holiday time and since yesterday I’ve been enjoying a long weekend. I’m in Naples right now; a lot of sun, espresso, sun-dried tomatoes, mozzarela, and pizza:-) I have never eaten so much pizza in my life, so many varieties, and all have been consistently delicious!! And the town itself is like an open air museum. It exceeded my expectation big time. However, I had to leave my camera home, because of safety concerns (the town is famous for pickpockets and in my circle, I know of no soul who did not lose something while in Napels).
All the best!
I’m so envious of your pizza eating in Naples! I only breezed through there last fall on my way from Capri to Rome, but I so wish we had stopped for pizza. We’d heard of the dangers too, so just decided to keep going. Next time! xx
You are too cute, Clara…just sayin’. It’s also my 10 year too. At first I was dead set on not going but I’ve totally done a 180… Yes- totally do a TJ post….and make sure to instagram hair photos
Love JTB and Shutterbean, my FAV! Also, yes to Trader Joe’s post! I love seeing what other people love from there
Got it! Will definitely add that post to our editorial calendar
I love starting may off with a cook out! Guac and hot dogs sound so yummy. May is definitely my favorite month for reasons right there! Also – no shame in the housewives of Orange County – it is such a guilty pleasure of mine and heather is awesome!
Isn’t she the best? Even though they’re all insane, she seems the most sane. I also love her East coast demeanor.
